Alrighty, we have a story to tell and only a short time to tell it because you have to read it and not watch it on a reel, short, or tikTok (if that thing is still kickin').

At Bonnell Ranch Beef, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality, naturally raised beef. Our family-owned ranch ensures that no antibiotics or hormones will interfere with our grass-raised and grain-finished cattle. We believe that everyone deserves to know where their beef comes from and the ranchers who dedicate their lives to raising it.

Ric and Wendy Bonnell have been cherished members of the Tolar community for over 15 years, combining their professional expertise as trusted medical doctors with their personal lives as dedicated ranchers and parents. Together, they have raised an impressive eight children on their ranch (Yes, we said 8!), creating a vibrant family atmosphere steeped in love and hard work. Ric's heritage is deeply rooted in ranching and a commitment to quality food, which naturally led the couple to begin raising their own beef. This pursuit not only fulfills their passion for great food but also allows them to share their bounty with others, fostering a sense of community and connection through the ranching lifestyle they have embraced. In 2020 (yes that awful year), the Bonnell's partnered with friend and local knucklehead Jake Valdez ( the "ranch hand") to help develop the beef program. Jake is an alumnus of the great TCU Ranch Management program and brings many years of ranch management experience to the operation. Jake and his wife Carly have 4 kiddos running around on the ranch these days.

At our ranch, we hold a simple belief: life is too short not to savor exceptional beef! That's why we take great care in raising our cattle, ensuring they are always free from hormones and antibiotics. Our unique cattle are a blend of Angus cows and Akaushi bulls, a breed known for its delicious flavor—a name that translates to "tasty" in Japanese (according to Ric...). We pride ourselves on raising cattle on lush grass and finishing them with top-quality natural feed to enhance their flavor. When the time comes for processing, we partner with a reputable, locally-owned butcher facility that is federally inspected, assuring you of our commitment to quality and safety. Rest assured, our beef is crafted with care and integrity—no shortcuts here!

We also believe in enjoying life, having a good time, and not taking ourselves too seriously around here (if you couldn't tell already). This ain't the Yellowstone, nobody is gettin' taken to the "train station" here. Unless you cook your steak well done, then we might need to have a talkin'!
